Concert/Event Video Production Case Study - Mika - "Any Other World"
Our Brief was to create a visual designed around Origami for the concert background of Mika’s latest tour. Our song was ‘Any Other Day’ and we were one of 16 other animation houses working on the full concert. The set was based around a sketchbook, and a huge Sketchbook with screens for pages is where the animation would play, with Mika singing in-front. We had a very short deadline on this in-fact we turned this job around in just under 4 weeks. We used a combination of stop motion origami and After Effects paper style animation to create an environment that was on point for Mika and his concert. We were commended for our efforts and the professionalism we showed in getting the final product right. Big thanks to Ben and Tash for their origami patience!!
As the concert backgrounds didn’t make sense on their own, we have made a visual version with an actual Sketchbook in a Mika style to give it some relevance - take a look.
